Technology has been shown to contribute to student achievement in different ways at the elementary, middle school, and high school level. How can the literacy specialist best use technology to promote student success?
It seems that there are many different use of technology for students to use in any grade level but the most common statement that comes up is how can student success will promote and I guess the only way to do that is to show a progress report on how students are increasing their literacy as well their ability of using the technology correctly. At the same time specialist will have an ideal view on how literacy has improve students to be successful on using any type of technology.
It is a literacy specialists job to know where a student is lacking and could use technology to build skills. They have the advantage of knowing which skills need most improvement. When they do this they should let the students and parents know how much the programs or devices help them in order to keep up motivation.
Technology can be used to help a student be successful because the literacy can focus on the specific skills that the student is struggling with. There are a wide range of programs out there and it can be very helpful to focus on one area of improvement.
The technology that the students use can be applied better to what the student is working on. For the specialist i think that if they can use it more then it would be more benefical for the student. Students love to use different technology because they are able to do something different and they feel special, so if the specialist can use it more, it would be more benefical for the students.
Technology being used by literacy specialists is great for the students they are servicing becuase the techology can be incoprate and aligned with what they are doing in the classroom. Specialist can even do basic typing skills, programs for specific contents, or to be used with reading.
Technology is a very motivating resource for teachers to utilize with their students. It can also ease frustration and stress from a student who may be lacking certain academic skills. Because of the variety of technological resources, a literacy specialist can find a particular technology to meet the individual needs of students.
